Adam Moody – Craster and Seahouses Lifeboat Crews

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and totally unexpected death of one of our crew. Adam Moody was a Helmsman at our flank station at Craster (his home station), and had recently enlisted at Seahouses as Helmsman for our ILB, as well as crew for our ALB. Adam lived at Embleton, half way between the two stations. Not content with that, he was also an active member of Howick Coastguard Team.  Adam collapsed suddenly on the Cheviot Walk on Saturday 01 September. He leaves a partner and 3 children, the youngest being only 10 weeks. Although he had only joined the Seahouses Crew recently, he will be deeply missed. A dedicated and loyal crewman, popular among his fellow crewmen at Craster and Seahouses, so unjustly taken from us. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends, and his colleagues at Craster Lifeboat Station, who are deeply stunned by his death.

CAPSIZED YACHT – TWO PERSONS IN THE WATER REQUEST ASSISTANCE

At 10:25hr on Friday 24 August 2018, UK Coastguard requested the launch of Seahouses All Weather Lifeboat, to go to the assistance of two persons in the water, following a yacht capsizing off Football Hole, south of Beadnell Bay. The radio distress call was very weak and distorted, and barely readable and was heard by the Lifeboat Station personnel as well as the UK Coastguard Operations Centre.
