At 17:11 hrs today, Saturday 20 June 2020 Exmouth RNLI’s temporary Inshore Lifeboat D-755 Peggy D was requested to launch by H.M. Coastguard following reports of two paddle boarders in difficulties on the River Exe off Exmouth Railway Station.

BROKEN DOWN FISHING BOAT ONE MILE EAST OF HOLY ISLAND IN FOG.

Lifeboat being recovered at 9.15pm

Photographs show the fishing boat brought alongside the lifeboat for the final entrance tow into the harbour at Seahouses, where it was met by Seahouses Coastguard Rescue Officers.

At 17:00hr on Tuesday 16 June 2020, Seahouses All Weather Lifeboat was requested to launch by UK Coastguard, to assist a 31ft fishing boat, broken down one mile east of Emmanuel Head at Holy Island, with two crew aboard. Weather conditions were a calm sea, but with a moderate coastal fog.

Seahouses Inshore Lifeboat called to search for missing person

At 17:33hr on Sunday 14 June 2020, Seahouses Inshore Lifeboat was requested to launch by UK Coastguard, to assist the Police and Local Coastguard Units from Seahouses, Holy Island and Howick, to search for a missing male teenager. The lifeboat was tasked to conduct a shoreline search from Seahouses to Bamburgh, while Police and Coastguards searched shore and dunes.

Book launch – Surviving the Storm

A new book, published just yesterday, describes in detail no less than eleven true accounts of individual real live rescues by volunteer RNLI crews across the UK and one such assignment features an incredible rescue by courageous Exmouth RNLI volunteers in 2011.
