THE NEW SEAHOUSES LIFEBOAT IS FINALLY COMPLETED AT THE RNLI ALL WEATHER LIFEBOAT CENTRE AT POOLE, DORSET
RNLI Seahouses eagerly awaiting the arrival of their new Shannon Class AWL. The Shannon program has been very successful, bringing specification, design and construction, launching and trials all together in the new RNLI boatyard facilities. For RNLI Seahouses the Shannon will offer a number of significant advancements in their capabilities. Notably, the 25 knot speed will be a major advance, helping them respond much faster and the waterjet propulsion will another big advantage enabling them to operate in much shallower water. Then there are all the advances in electronics and both comfort and safety for the crew……….SARN Ed.
– LAUNCHING CEREMONY 11:45 hr 05 November 2019.
Eight bells rung on the boat yard bell, to denote end of watch, boat complete.Extensive sea trials and testing to follow.
The ceremony was attended by Lifeboat Operations Manager Ian Clayton. Once again the
ALC have produced a superb craft, which the crew at Seahouses look forward with great
pride and excitement, to commence acceptance training.
TWO PERSONS AND DOG REPORTED CUT OFF BY RISING TIDE AT BUDLE BAY, NORTH OF SEAHOUSES.
At 10:53am on Saturday 23rd November 2019, UK Coastguard requested the launch of Seahouses Inshore Lifeboat, to assist two walkers and a dog, reported by a member of the public, to be cut off by the rising tide at Budle Bay, north of Seahouses.
Clyst Valley Community College donates to Exmouth RNLI

On 11th November 2019 fourteen students from Clyst Vale Community College, together with Mrs Heather Padden (Head of History), and Mr Marc Brooks (Head of Art), visited the Lifeboat Station in Exmouth to present a cheque for £997.14 they had raised for Exmouth RNLI, together with £168.84 in cash and a cake to share between the lifeboat crew.

Exmouth Lifeboat assists in search for two swept out to sea

At 15:58hrs yesterday Sunday 03 November 2019 Exmouth’s All Weather Lifeboat, R & J Welburn was alerted by HM Coastguard to assist in a search for two individuals that had been swept into the sea near Freshwater Beach Holiday Park in Bridport, Dorset.
