At 1:56pm the ILB launched on service and made best speed to the location. As with the call yesterday, when the lifeboat was half way to the scene, further reports were received that the wind surfer had been assisted by another, and had reached the shore safely.

The local coastguard team from Seahouses had also been dispatched to the scene. The Inshore Lifeboat was then cancelled and returned to station at 2.35pm that day.

There are no photographs of the incident, and the RNLI have no information about the wind surfer’s condition or identity. He was not believed to have been in need of any medical attention.
