Before the evening exercise on 1 November, Exmouth RNLI Crew volunteers were presented with a buoy depicting the station’s Shannon and D class lifeboats.

Local artist, Margot Cornish has been involved with the charity that saves lives at sea for around 40 years, with her husband, Keith formerly Chair of Hatfield branch. Margot had cousins who were Crew at Newhaven RNLI and fully appreciates the work of all the station and fundraising volunteers.

Margot has painted similar buoys for Stuart Line Cruises and Sarah Ingram, in memory of her late husband, former local fisherman and Crew volunteer, Geoff.

Margot says:

I like to paint and give presents as a gift from my heart, to those who truly deserve it. This is just another way of showing our gratitude to a fantastic cause.’

The buoy will be displayed at the lifeboat station for visitors to appreciate the unique gift.
