PRINCE HARRY MAKES A SURPRISE VISIT

This week Prince Harry stunned double leg amputee veteran Duncan Slater whilst undertaking final preperations for the searing heat of the Sahara.
His Royal Highness travelled to Gosport to personally wish Duncan ‘Good Luck’.

When Prince Harry asked the obvious question…..”Why?”  Duncan’s response was simple, “1. To raise awareness and funds for WWTW and 2. To keep pushing myself and inspire others to see that no matter what life throws at you, anything is possible.”

WORLD RECORD ATTEMPTS

This year we have 2 potential world records  – wounded veteran Duncan Slater will be the first ever double leg amputee to complete the challenge and Oscar Daglish will be the youngest competitor to ever take part at just 16 years old.

The race begins this Sunday and we will be behind the team every step of the way. Do ‘Like’ our Facebook page and ‘Follow’ us on Twitter for live updates from the desert.

GOOD LUCK TO THE WHOLE TEAM.  Please support our intrepid and brave runners http://bit.ly/2p8utgt

WHERE FUNDS RAISED FROM OUR MdS TEAM GO

All the funds raised by the endeavours of the MdS team will be allocated to our programmes that support vulnerable veterans with mental health difficulties.
We work in collaboration with other military charities and the NHS to provide mental healthcare for veterans.  We have a network of over 200 therapists nationally and we aim to see veterans within 10 days of receiving their consent for care. Currently our average is 4.5 days. We don’t believe in waiting lists. When care is needed, care should be received.
