Media are invited to join Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) personnel from across Canada, as well as participants from the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA) as they refine their skills in the annual national Search and Rescue exercise (SAREX) taking place from September 18 to 24, in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.

SAREX challenges will include aerial and ground searches, medical responses, parachute accuracy exercises, as well as land and marine rescues. The Canadian Armed Forces’ search and rescue community will work together with civilian search and rescue organizations and other first responders in activities involving nearly 200 participants.


Before the official beginning of SAREX, members of the media are invited to the grounds of Joint Task Force (North) for a brief introduction from the exercise leadership and participants.
