At a meeting on 26 April, Tim Baker handed over the role of Chair of the Exmouth Lifeboat Management Group after six years. He is succeeded by former Exmouth Mayor, Darryl Nicholas.

On 10 May, 12 visually impaired visitors, 8 helpers, 9 guide dogs and 2 organisers visited Exmouth lifeboat station as part of their holiday at Cliffden Hotel, Teignmouth with Action for the Blind; working with the RNIB.

At 16.07hr on Thursday 5th May 2016, Humber Coastguard requested the launch of Seahouses All Weather Lifeboat to transport a paramedic, at the request of the North East Ambulance Service, to Holy Island. The Causeway was closed by the tide. A person on the island required urgent medical attention.

Seahouses All Weather Lifeboat was launched and conveyed a paramedic to the island, where he was met by local coastguards, who escorted him to the casualty’s location. On completion of the incident, the lifeboat returned to station at 18.00hr that day.

CAR WITH TWO OCCUPANTS CUT OFF ON HOLY ISLAND CAUSEWAY

C1At 13.26hr on Tuesday 3rd May 2016, Humber Coastguard requested the launch of Seahouses Inshore Lifeboat to go to the assistance of two persons trapped in their car on Holy Island Causeway, by the tide. One of the persons had a medical condition (restricted mobility). High tide was 12.29hr that day (Seahouses).
