Finmeccanica – AgustaWestland announced today that the Croatian Police has placed an order for one AW139 intermediate twin-turbine helicopter. With this order, the AW139 will enter for the first time in the Country, replacing an older model following a competitive tender issued by the Croatian Ministry of Interior.

Polar Star makes progress on Antarctic rescue mission
February 13, 2015—The U.S. Coast Guard icebreaker CG Polar Star is making slow but steady progress to assist an Australian-flagged fishing vessel trapped by ice in Antarctica. The 399-foot Polar Star is one of the world’s most powerful non-nuclear icebreakers. It is the nation’s only heavy icebreaker capable of operating in the thick Antarctic ice for a mission such as breaking out the Antarctic Chieftain or clearing McMurdo Sound for the annual resupply of McMurdo Station.

Finmeccanica – AgustaWestland announced today it has completed the delivery of the Italian Police’s AW139 intermediate twin helicopters at the end of December 2014. Deliveries started in mid-2013 and now eight aircraft are in service at five different bases in central and southern Italy comprising three aircraft in Pratica di Mare close to Rome, two helicopters in Reggio Calabria and one each in Bari, Palermo and Fenosu.

New Cessna Skyhawk order to expand Civil Air Patrol fleet


WICHITA, Kan., February 2, 2015 – Cessna Aircraft Company, a subsidiary of Textron Aviation Inc., a Textron Inc. (NYSE:TXT) company, today announced an order from the U.S. Civil Air Patrol (CAP) for 21 new Cessna Skyhawk 172 aircraft, the latest in a relationship spanning 40 years. CAP, a federally chartered non-profit organization and designated by Congress in 1948 as the Air Force auxiliary, performs services for the federal government and for states and local communities such as search-and-rescue and disaster relief.
