The crew from Mudeford RNLI were tasked at 9:47am to search for a suspected missing person after angling equipment was found abandoned on Avon Beach. The crew were joined in the search by Southbourne Mobile Coastguard Unit, the police helicopter, the police and the coastguard helicopter.
A thorough search was conducted from Milford to Hengistbury Head, both by land and sea, but to no avail.
The crew on board relief lifeboat Eric Guest returned back to the station at 1:14pm, whilst Southbourne Mobile Coastguard Unit continued on with the search.

Japan National Police Agency orders an AW109 Power for the Kyoto Police

Finmeccanica – AgustaWestland and Kanematsu Corporation are pleased to announce that the Japan National Police Agency (JNPA) has ordered one AW109 Power light twin helicopter which will be operated by Kyoto Police. The AW109 Power helicopter will replace an ageing B206 model and will be delivered to the customer in December 2015.

The new local gig rowing club in town has helped raise £127.75 for Exmouth RNLI on 23 and 24 August, during the charity’s Open Day Weekend. The club organised a rowing competition and sold bottled water to help save lives at sea at the event.
