Mudeford RNLI – Sunday shout

The skipper of a local angling boat called the Coastguard for assistance at 6.40pm on Sunday evening.

The request came after the exhaust manifold had sheered off leaving the engine unable to run.

The 32ft fast angling boat had been steaming back to Mudeford from The Needles, where the 10 people on board had been bream fishing, when the incident occurred. The crew from Mudeford RNLI took up the tow two miles SE from the entrance to Christchurch harbour and brought the boat safely back to Mudeford Quay to unload the passengers before taking the vessel to its moorings in the harbour.
