Exmouth RNLI volunteers rescue two people on broken down RIB

Portland Coastguard tasked Exmouth RNLI inshore lifeboat, George Bearman at 9.16pm on 15 May, following a VHF call from a Rigid Inflatable Boat.

Three crew volunteers launched at dusk towards a location half a mile off Straight Point. Two men aboard a Rigid Inflatable Boat called for help using their onboard VHF radio after their engine failed.

Lifeboat Operations Manager, Kevin Riley commented;

As duty Deputy Launching Authority at the time, I was very pleased to hear from our crew that the casualties were carrying full safety equipment and wearing lifejackets. It certainly makes it easier for our volunteers to do their job.’
