Come and meet the volunteer crew of RNLI Kessock as they open the doors to the lifeboat station on their annual open day, this Saturday (24 September), between 10 am and 4 pm.
Funded entirely by donations from the public this is RNLI Kessock’s biggest fundraising day of the year. As well as meeting the crew, visitors will be able to climb aboard the lifeboat while it is on land. Among other things there will be RNLI souvenirs, tea and coffee, home-baking, face painting (for both children and adults) and a raffle.
Operational requirements permitting, throughout the day there will be rescue demonstrations by the lifeboat crew along with Invergordon Lifeboat and the RAF Search and Rescue Helicopter, Sea King 137 based at RAF Lossiemouth. There will also be flood rescue demonstrations by some of the RNLI Scottish Flood Rescue Team based at Kessock.
If you have ever thought about volunteering for the RNLI as crew or a shore helper and would like more information or have questions you’d like answered then this is the time to come and find out what it is all about.
