Costa Concordia: the SAR Response The IMRF’s regional meeting in Valletta, Malta, in April 2013 was addressed by, among others, Rear Admiral Cristiano Aliperta of the Italian Coast Guard, who described the SAR response to the Costa Concordia accident.

News From Around The World    The IMRF in Malta  The IMRF’s Board of Trustees visited the Armed Forces of Malta’s rescue coordination centre in Valletta during a visit to the island in April 2013 for the Trustees’ half-yearly management meeting, and for a focus day involving IMRF Members from the region.     Mass Rescue in the Caribbean: the Black Swan Exercise  In the Bahamas in early April 2013 the United States Coast Guard held one of the largest live MRO exercises ever staged, working with the Bahamian authorities and the cruise ship industry on an “exercise of processes”.   The IMRF in Bangladesh On 13 August 2013, the IMRF will hold a mass rescue operations workshop with representatives of the Bangladeshi naval, port, shipping, inland water transport, fisheries and emergency response agencies.

It is amazing how much paperwork we have generated over the months, and we used the move of office as an excellent opportunity to do a bit of much-needed clearing out and housekeeping.

It certainly highlighted the incredible steps forward taken by the IMRF over the past few months, along with the amazing historical achievements over the years since evolving from ILF and all of it done with such a small team. What a super book this will make!
