Have you been inspired by those pounding the pavement in the London Marathon but don’t feel quite up to the 26 mile challenge? Well one charity is looking for local life savers to take part in a much smaller run through the nation’s capital.
The East Anglian Air Ambulance has places up for grabs for those wanting to take part in a 10k run through London and applications are now open for those willing to set the pace at Piccadilly, trot though Trafalgar Square and whisk by Westminster Abbey.
Jess Down, EAAA Fundraising Manager, said: “Our runners really will be our local life savers as the money they raise from taking part in the event will really help the charity so we can continue getting our highly skilled crews to the scenes of medical emergencies.
“We have six places up for grabs for this fantastic run are we’re keen to hear from anyone who would like to take up the challenge on our behalf. It promises to be a fantastic day with a great atmosphere and anyone going along will have a wonderful time, all in the knowledge that their efforts are really helping others.”
All runners are asked to raise £500 for the charity and support will be given to all runners to help raise the money if required.
To apply for a place at the London 10k, which takes place on Sunday 14 July, contact Jess Down on 01603 489406 or email email@example.com
