For the second year running the staff at Cawston Post Office and Store near Norwich have staged a fun fundraising day in aid of a local air ambulance charity.
The staff performed arabesques and plies through the store as they spent the day dressed up as ballerinas. They then encouraged customers visiting the village shop to make a donation when paying for their groceries and using the services of the Post Office. Even post office assistant Peter Kilgour was persuaded to take part and was resplendent dressed in a purple tutu and pearl headband!
Store Manager, Ann Alden praised customers and staff for their generosity which enabled the Cawston Post Office and Store to raise £500 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
EAAA Deputy Fundraising Co-ordinator Norwich and North Norfolk, Amy Greenwood said: “I’m delighted to be receiving this fantastic sum from Cawston Post Office and would like to thank everyone who helped to organise the event. Community fundraising such as this is the reason we are able to keep operating our two dedicated air ambulance helicopters which transport our highly skilled doctor and paramedic crews to the scenes of emergencies in the local area”.
