This year I’ll get fit…
Were you inspired by some of our great athletes to get fit? For the Mo Farahs’ out there, taking part in a running event this year such as the Virgin London Marathon or the Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon you can raise money for us. Just fill in the form on the website and let us know, and we’ll support you every step of the way. If you’re a budding Bradley Wiggins we have the return of our Rutland Water Bike Ride – sideburns are optional for this event!

For the multi disciplinarians such as Jessica Ennis, we have a fantastic new team challenge event called Tri-X, consisting of three events that take you across the longest lake in England, along the steepest cycle pass and up the tallest mountain.

This year I’ll get out more…
If you’re suffering from cabin fever after the Christmas break and vowed to get out more, then why not become a volunteer for us? You may think that volunteering is standing outside a supermarket with a bucket however we have many volunteer roles across the Charity. With over twenty shops across the country, and more planned for 2013, we need help sorting donations, researching prices and working on the tills. We have several volunteers in our offices, so if you’re a whizz with Word, excellent at Excel or would just like to help us with general admin get in touch. Of course if you want to be out and about we always need help at events. Volunteering is a great way to help keep our helicopters and crew flying and saving lives and if you’re looking for a way to improve your CV with specific skills or want to do something not mentioned above let us know.

This year I’ll de clutter…
Did you get some unwanted Christmas gifts? Or are you looking to make some space in your home? Our shops are always looking for donations. If you don’t have a shop near you then why not sell the item on eBay? When you list an item you’re asked if you’d like to donate a percentage to charity choose us and the money will come straight to us. You may also have seen our recycling banks popping up across the country, again these are great for when you have a clear out.

This year I’ll spend less money…
Are you trying to curb your spending habits? We have some great items for sale in our shops from designer shoes and clothing, to DVDs to stop those expensive cinema trips, to household items to help save the pennies. As well as our shops why not buy on eBay? Many of our supporters sell items and donate a percentage of the price to us, so you can get a bargain and help save lives at the same time!

This year I’ll make a difference…
2012 was a big year for Great Britain, with the Jubilee and the Olympics dominating the news, it was hard to come out of the year not feeling inspired! If you told yourself that 2013 would be the year you’d make a difference then we have plenty of ways you can help. In fact right now you could make a difference simply by forwarding this email to a friend. Talk about us with your family, friends and colleagues, let them know the great work that we do saving lives.

Are you on social media? We are! Like and share our WNAA or DLRAA Facebook page or follow us on Twitter we have accounts for WNAA and DLRAA. That way you’ll be the first to hear our news and will see first-hand how you make a difference. Of course the biggest way you can help keep us flying is to donate. As we’re sure you know we receive no Government or Lottery funding, we rely 100% on donations from people like you to keep us saving lives.

Whatever you do this year we hope it’s a great one and that most importantly you stay safe.
