A life-saving charity is to receive a significant donation which will boost funds and ensure the service can continue operating long into the future.
On Friday, 28 September, the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) will receive a cheque from Shadwell Estate Company Limited at Rowley Mile Racecourse in Newmarket, in recognition of their services to the Eastern region, in particular its rural communities and businesses.
Mirza Al Sayegh, Chairman of Shadwell Estate Company Limited and Private Secretary to HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will present the Rt. Hon. the Earl of Iveagh, Trustee of the EAAA, with a cheque representing the annual gift that has been made to the charity since 2007 and said: “We are pleased to make this modest contribution towards the costs of this invaluable service”.
Lord Iveagh commented: “The donation made by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum is remarkable and the money will go towards potentially saving a number of lives across the eastern region.
“Unfortunately we get called out to many horse riding incidents, both in the racing community and with domestic riders, and we’re always bowled over by the support we receive from people in the racing industry.
“It’s only thanks to people like Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum that we can continue running our life-saving service and carry on helping those who find themselves in difficulty, when and where they need us most.”
