On Sunday, members headed up the Indian Arm to the IA SAR station to perform various maintenance tasks and ensure operational readiness of equipment. While one crew worked on performing upgrades to the communications systems, another took the all-terrain-vehicles for a run up the Indian River mainline road. This is essential for making sure the vehicles are in working condition when a call comes in. After a further orientation to the gear in the SAR station and some small maintenance tasks, members packed up and headed back down to the city.
A big thanks to John Sullivan from Ralph’s Radio who came up to our SAR Station at the top of Indian Arm on Sunday to install new cellular antenna and amplifier. John represents a growing number of resource people who unselfishly help NSR day in and day out!
